New WhatsApp Features: Every User should know

WhatsApp has introduced several new features including Fingerprint authentication, Group Invitation, Consecutive Voice Messages, Share WhatsApp Status as Facebook story and many more in new update.

WhatsApp is one of the most popular instant messaging apps across in the world. WhatsApp has over 1.5 billion users worldwide and 400 million active users in India.

WhatsApp is working on a new feature which will allow users to change the background themes within the app. which has been made available to all Android and iOS users. The app serves its purpose of being a fast and intuitive messaging app but it also comes with some nifty features many users may not be aware of.

Here are detailed analyses of each feature below:

  1. Fingerprint lock feature:
    WhatsApp recently add its “Fingerprint Authentication” feature to its Android beta app. iOS users already have fingerprint authentication, allowing users to unlock the WhatsApp with Touch ID or Face ID. To enable this feature user should head to WhatsApp Settings > Account > Privacy > Fingerprint lock.
  2. Group Invitation:
    Another interesting features added by WhatsApp is “Group Invitation”. They introduced this features such way that users can add in group only those people who is in their own contact and that to not directly. When a contact adds the user to a group, the user would get an invitation to join the group with an expiry limit of 72 hours.
  3. Consecutive Voice Messages:
    The new consecutive voice message feature allows the users of the chat app to listen to voice messages one after the other, automatically. All you will have to do is to tap on the play button and WhatsApp will play all the voice messages in a row for you. At the end of the first voice message, WhatsApp will notify the user with a sound. Immediately after the sound, it will play the next voice message.
  4. Frequently forwarded tag:
    WhatsApp launched a new feature called ‘Frequently Forwarded’ in 2019 to help a user identify a message that has been forwarded multiple times on the platform. With it, the company aims to alert users of spam messages that are circulated on the platform.
  5. WhatsApp Status as Facebook:
    In this feature you can add your status with your contacts. WhatsApp Status is the service’s Instagram Stories-style feature that lets you post images, text, and videos on your profile that disappears after 24 hours.
